The Vision Behind SCI
Our founding professional member, Harry Gray, recognised a fundamental challenge in today's business landscape: the wealth of knowledge and experience held by retired and semiretired professionals was at risk of being lost forever. With over 50 years of distinguished experience in the public sector and higher education, Harry understood that retirement need not mean the end of professional contribution.
Harry's vision was simple yet profound: create a platform where seasoned professionals could continue to share their expertise with new and up-and-coming business owners on a flexible, consultancy basis. He believed passionately that the concept of retirement is nowhere near as age-dependent as it once was, and that the business community would benefit enormously from this intergenerational exchange of knowledge.

Harry Gray brings over 50 years of distinguished experience in the public sector and higher education to his role as the founding professional member of Scotforth Connection International. His current focus encompasses the NHS, local government, and higher education, supported by his published expertise in health education and strategic leadership.
Harry's vision for SCI emerged from his deep concern that retired and semiretired professionals should not allow their hard-earned knowledge to go to waste. He recognised that in an era where the concept of retirement is becoming increasingly flexible, there was tremendous opportunity to create meaningful connections between experienced professionals and businesses seeking strategic guidance.
